Due to its fragrance and dense, regular habit is a majestic Christmas tree cut or potted. Silver spruce belongs to the pine family (pinaceae). Silver spruce needles with a length of 1-3 cm are decorative, stiff, prickly, set radially in color from green-gray, bluish to silvery. The species comes from the Rocky Mountains in western North America. Silver spruce in native regions reaches up to 30-40m in height, however in our climate it reaches up to 20m in height. The tree has a brownish-gray bark, which becomes deeply furrowed with age. The plant has a flat and relatively deep root system.
